Description
The AK Elementary was build in 1960 under the administration of President G.J. Millet. The building was built to serve as a laboratory school for the elementary Education Department. It is named for Anna Knight who was the first Black SDA Superintendent of Education. Grades 1 through 8 were taught until 1986, when the enrollment became so large that some classes had to be taught in the new church building. The building is not currently being used due to an untimely fire that destroyed the building in 1989. A new $1million Elementary facility is being constructed. ld.php (1024×396) (oakwood.edu)
